RECENT WORK BY AMY KANDALL
The subject matter of this exhibition explores the alter ego of a feral bear and a domestic girl who support each other through trials and tribulations of transformation. Flipping ideas of what is inside and outside, what is real and what is theater, what is seen, felt and imagined. It is a story about spending real time with a spirit animal. The two dance, read books, sleep, play pretend and take turns emoting.
Amy has her BFA from SUNY Purchase in painting and her MFA from Bard College where she became a sculptor. She has been teaching painting and ceramics in our local high school for over 25 years.
Amy Kandall is the founder of Truro Clay Works, a community ceramic studio in Truro.
