A Path Toward Membership

Starting in September 2027 Truro Clay Works will be offering twelve, six and three month Memberships. To qualify for a Membership you must have taken a series of classes with us. This is a year to get in your Foundations Classes in.

SEMESTER HANDBUILDING CLASSES

Each class will walk you through how to use the skills of Pinching, Slab Construction, Kurinuki sculpting and Coiling. The goal being to give the Maker maximum dexterity in integrating these building methods into a growing practice.

WHEELTHROWING SINGLE SESSIONS

You can register for the dates that work best for you. It is advised to work twice a week to develop a strong practice. Classes fill at six. After five sessions you will start to feel confident with this skill. Packs of five are available at check out.

MULTI DAY WORKSHOPS

These are a deeper dive on a small topic and work well for honing in a small skill such as surface decoration of a single object study.

WHEEL THROWING IMMERSION

This is a semester class to move forward with the same group of people through a guided curriculum of forms to deeply strengthen your skills. Your skills will grow exponentially.

GLAZE WORKSHOPS

These are included in the cost of each class. These will be announced through our newsletter. At these workshops students from all classes join together to glaze their work. Instruction is given at the start of every workshop so new students are encouraged to come on time. These workshops will be listed as single sessions and require invitation and registration.

INDEPENDENT STUDY

This like is like a membership. You are welcome to use the studio during the hours we are open. If approved for this tier, you may register for a month at a time. You will have a private self for your wares. If you are a established maker or have taken enough classes with us to be independent, please apply using the link below.

PRIVATE LESSONS

These are available. To arrange one please contact the founder of TCW at amy@truroclayworks.com. Let her know your available dates and number of participants/interests. She will will make a lesson plan and get back to you with an estimate.

PRICING OF CLAY GLAZE AND FIRING

This is unique at TCW. Our philosophy encourages play. Any clay that is used but not fired is free and recycled. Completed work from the glaze fire is $6 a lb and can be charged through Sawyer, Venmo or cash on the day of pick up.

ALL PARTICIPATES AT TRURO CLAY WORKS MUST BE 18 OR OLDER
